Overview

The Stadthuys is one of the most recognizable historical landmarks in Melaka, Malaysia, known for its striking red exterior and Dutch colonial architecture.

Built in 1650 during the Dutch colonial era, it originally served as the official residence of the Dutch Governor and administrative center of the Dutch East India Company in Melaka.

Today, the Stadthuys forms part of the Melaka Museum Complex and houses exhibitions showcasing the history, culture, and colonial heritage of Melaka.

Located at Dutch Square, it sits alongside other historic buildings such as Christ Church and the Queen Victoria Fountain, making it one of the most photographed areas in the city.
