IPOH RAILWAY STATION, IPOH

The iconic "Taj Mahal of Ipoh" and one of Malaysia's most beautiful colonial-era railway stations

Overview

Ipoh Railway Station is one of Malaysia's most famous historical landmarks, serving as both an active railway station and a magnificent example of British colonial architecture.

Officially opened in 1917, the station was designed by renowned British architect Arthur Benison Hubback, who was also responsible for several iconic buildings throughout Malaysia.

Its elegant white façade, grand arches, domes, and Moorish-inspired architecture have earned it the nickname "The Taj Mahal of Ipoh".

Today, the station remains an important transportation hub while also attracting tourists, photographers, and history enthusiasts exploring Ipoh's Old Town heritage district.
