Overview
Mari Mari Cultural Village is a living museum located near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, offering visitors a guided journey into the traditional homes and lifestyles of Sabah’s indigenous groups.
The village showcases the heritage of several ethnic communities including the Kadazan-Dusun, Rungus, Murut, Bajau, and Lundayeh people. Each traditional house is carefully reconstructed to reflect authentic architecture and cultural practices.
Visitors are guided through interactive demonstrations such as bamboo cooking, fire-making techniques, blowpipe hunting, tattoo traditions, and traditional rice wine (tapai) preparation.
The experience concludes with a cultural performance featuring traditional music and dance, giving guests a deeper appreciation of Sabah’s rich cultural diversity.
