Sipadan Island

SIPADAN ISLAND, SABAH

One of the world's best diving destinations with extraordinary marine biodiversity and crystal-clear waters

Overview

Sipadan Island is Malaysia's most famous diving destination and is widely regarded as one of the top dive sites in the world.

Located off the southeast coast of Sabah in the Celebes Sea, Sipadan was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone, creating dramatic underwater walls that plunge more than 600 metres.

The island is renowned for its incredible marine biodiversity, including sea turtles, reef sharks, barracudas, bumphead parrotfish, and hundreds of species of tropical fish.

To protect its fragile ecosystem, daily visitor numbers are strictly limited, making Sipadan one of the most exclusive diving experiences in Southeast Asia.
